Mark Zirklebach Goat Canyon Trestle Bridge Memorial Trek

And incredible hike to Goat Canyon Trestle Bridge

Mark and Ed's relationship has spanned a couple of decades.

Their bond was forged traversing Goat Canyon Trestle Bridge in 2024 and 2025. We decided we would reunite annually and continue to ask others to join us. Sadly, Mark took a different journey earlier this year, crossing an eternal bridge and will not be with us physically. We continue to make our annual trek, this time dedicated to the memory of Mark. We call it the Mark Zirklebach Goat Canyon Trestle Bridge Memorial Trek. We will share Mark stories.

Anyone can make this trek. It is hard but not impossible. We start early to best shield ourselves from the desert climate. While mostly flat, we will climb around one or two large hills where the railroad tunnels may be blocked. At a minimum we will go through 10 tunnels and cross 10 bridges, the last one being the largest wood trestle bridge in the world. An epic experience. One Mark and I loved.
